#5002 Pinto Saddlebred
Saddlebreds can come in a wide range of fun colours, including pinto patterns. This chestnut tobiano example was the first broken-coloured example of the mold. The masked blaze is something we take for granted now, but these crisp, clean facial markings after years of fuzzy airbrushing was quite the innovation at the time.
This was also the first G1 Saddlebred to feature painted braids. They were a bit heavy-handed with the paint, but the effect of the blue ribbons with green spots is nice - the tassels even have a little painted fringe.
