Regular Run Stablemate Assortment
#5702 Thoroughbred Lying and Standing Foals
The Thoroughbred Lying Foal is a foal with possibilities. Though it was originally released as an Arabian foal through Hagen-Renaker, it's a pretty generic looking little thing, so you can get away with a wide range of breeds: Morgan, Thoroughbred, Mustang, Quarter Horse, Pony-type? No problem.
This particular model is a fine example of a, I wouldn't say problem, but a paint irregularity frequently seen with the early chestnut models. If you look closely at the pictures, you can see this model has a speckly, almost roan-like appearance. Almost like the airbrush was acting up; I'm not sure if this was intentional, or if there was some issue with the paint. I have a chestnut Thoroughbred Mare that very closely resembles this foal, though my chestnut Thoroughbred Standing Foal looks normal, as do my other chestnut models from this period. This paint variation must not be too uncommon, as I have heard of others with similar chestnut models and even of a palomino 'roan'.
